The security protocols have been resumed in the last hours in the buildings of the National Congress and the Attorney General’s Office, after the Minister of the Environment, Orlando Jorge Mera, was shot to death last Monday in his office.
this morning in the House of Representativess, in the Senate and in the building that houses the Attorney General’s Office and the Supreme Court of Justice, the military not only searched visitors, but also employees.
In the case of the Supreme Court, the military thoroughly checked the women’s bags and the men were given a metal detector so that they would not enter the building with any type of weapon.
The packages, wallets and cell phones were also seized by the military in compliance with security protocols.
In these institutions, the military presence in corridors, office entrances and external entrances was also increased.

Until recently, visitors who came to Congress in the company of legislators entered the venue without much problem and were not even searched.
There are also greater restrictions in the National Palace since Jorge Mera was assassinated in his office by Fausto Miguel de Jesús Cruz de la Mota, who had free access due to his friendship with the official.
The soldiers who guard the entrance to the Government House require those who are going to access in vehicles to lower all the windows and open the luggage compartment for the purpose of a visual inspection before allowing entry.
Different sectors criticize that it is the officials and political leaders who relax the measures of the institutions by promoting the entry of family and friends without any control.
