DC parliamentarians will present a bill that “severely toughens” sentences for those responsible for crimes against Law Enforcement and Security Forces

A group of deputies from the Christian Democracy (DC) indicated that they will present a bill with the aim of toughening the penalties for those who are responsible for murders or attacks against officials of the Law Enforcement and Security Forces.

This was stated by the bench chief, Eric Aedo, who, on behalf of the Lower House bloc, extended his condolences to the family of Corporal David Florido Cisterna, who died last Friday after being shot in the head in the commune of Pedro Aguirre Cerda.

“We are going to present a bill that severely stiffens the penalties for those who murder or attack the Law Enforcement and Security Forces,” he said.

In addition, he called on the Government to “before removing the weapons from citizens, please, remove the weapons and go in search of the weapons that criminal gangs and delinquents have.”

The senator of the phalanx, Matías Walker, indicated in a conversation with Radio Cooperativa that “the Government has to empower the Carabineros”, giving it full support, since they are facing drug trafficking “with few tools.”
