The new group of migrants, made up of 51 men and 13 women, arrived at the international airport in Havana and, after undergoing PCR tests to detect covid-19, were transferred to their provinces of residence, detailed a note from the agency state-owned Latin Press.
It also points out that these travelers “did not violate immigration laws, but rather left Cuba legally and joined the irregular flow in Mexico,” with the intention of reaching the United States.
This is the 21st operation carried out to repatriate Cubans from Mexico this year, indicated the island’s immigration authorities.

The Havana Executive also attributes the increase in migration to the validity of the Cuban Adjustment Act of 1966, which allows Cubans to apply for permanent residence in the United States after one year and one day of remaining in that country.
