Ecuadorian right-back Byron Castillo has left Barcelona de Guayaquil to sign for León, a club from the Mexican state of Guanajuato.
Castillo, protagonist of the case with which the Chilean federation denounced Ecuador before FIFA with the aim of winning its entry into the Qatar World Cup in the offices, will reinforce León from the Apertura tournament that will begin on July 1.

Castillo, who the Chilean soccer federation insists was born in Colombia and has played irregularly with the Ecuadorian national team, stands out at 23 for his versatility to defend and attack.
The debate opened by a possible sanction against Ecuador with the withdrawal of its quota in the Qatar World Cup and the Chilean desire to receive it months after being eliminated in the South American qualifiers was diluted this Friday when FIFA dismissed the charges and closed the process disciplinary.
Castillo will face his first international experience with León after playing in Ecuador with Azogues, Emelec, Aucas and Barcelona.
With Barcelona, he played 147 games and scored nine goals, provided 17 assists and won the 2020 League title.
