This Tuesday, June 14, at 08:45 a.m., Congress will install the Bicameral Investigation Commission on punishable acts of money laundering and other related crimes. The presentation will take place in the session room of the Senate.
The six members are; Juan Afara (official ANR), Salyn Buzarquis (PLRA), Jorge Querey (Guasu Front), Basilio “Bachi” Núñez (Chartist ANR), Jorge Ávalos Mariño (PLRA) and Hugo Ramírez (official ANR).
This parliamentary body will have 60 days to issue a report on possible links of Horacio Cartes, former national president, in money laundering cases. Once completed, said report will be sent by Paraguayan senators to their North American counterparts and to other bodies such as the Financial Action Group of Latin America (Gafilat), the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the Organization of American States.
