The Police of the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo took over this Friday the facilities of Trinchera de la Noticia, a media outlet critical of the regime, whose offices were located near the Tenderí traffic lights in Managua.
María Alicia Talavera, director of the media outlet, explained that in the morning she and her son, Francisco Xavier Reyes, received a summons from the Ministry of the Interior (Migob) to appear at 3:00 p.m., but upon arrival to the place “I was only given a resolution from the Registry of Real Estate and Commercial Property of the department of Managua.”
At the time of taking over the building, the police officers closed all the access streets to the media outlet, but minutes later they withdrew. At the moment, a police patrol and a private truck remain outside the building.
According to Talavera, when the Police broke into the Trinchera de la Noticia building, two workers were present, the receptionist and the accountant, who were “aggressively removed.”
The occupation of Trinchera de la Noticia takes place a week after the media outlet commemorated the first anniversary of the death of its director and founder, journalist Xavier Reyes Alba.
