Two military officials were injured after a mine exploded on the border between Zulia and Colombia, according to military sources.
The incident occurred last Sunday, with the injured being First Lieutenant of the Bolivarian National Guard Alejandro Iznair Morón Perdono and Sergeant 2nd S/2 Junior González González.
Both were transferred from the border area to Santa Bárbara del Zulia in a helicopter that landed on the military ramp of the “Dr. Miguel Angel Urdaneta Fernandez.
The doctor on duty diagnosed Morón Perdomo with injuries to both lower limbs. While González presented wounds in the upper limbs with the presence of foreign bodies in the forearms and bruises without apparent neurological injuries, according to the report.
The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) is deployed in Zulia to combat the Tancol groups (Armed Terrorists, Colombian Drug Traffickers) installed in that area.
