Nicolás Maduro offered coffee for the Iranian market and the reactivation of flights between the two countries, as well as saying that they will build a “cooperation map” to establish a 20-year “strategy” of joint development.
The Venezuelan president, Nicholas Madurodescribed this Friday, June 10, as a “meeting” at the IX Summit of the Americas held in the city of Los Angeles while he is touring Eurasia, making his third stop in Iran, and asserted that this event has had ” various dimensions” such as the “protest” of several presidents for the exclusion of Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua.
Maduro, interviewed by the Hispan TV channel, asserted that at the “meeting” there were “brilliant” and “courageous” speeches such as that of the president of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, and the prime minister of Belize and president of Caricom, John Briceño, in favor of Havana, Managua and Caracas.
In addition, he believes that this has been the point of the aforementioned Summit, that is, that the issue revolved around the absence of countries and not about the issues that are planned to be addressed. In his opinion, the fact that there is no specific agenda and no development of topics makes the appointment something “bland” and “without priorities”, for which he stresses that it has been “blurred”.
He stressed that at the same time as the event in Los Angeles, a “true summit” was held, which was that of more than 3,000 leaders of social organizations from all over the continent who “did debate agendas to advance” on issues such as climate change and democracy.
Maduro plans to bring coffee from Caracas to Tehran
Nicolás Maduro pointed out that the purpose of his visit to Iran is to be able to “raise” relations with Iran even more from a strategic point of view, touching on areas of strength and development such as scientific knowledge, applied technology, which both countries need, and stressed that Bilateral cooperation between Caracas and Tehran is “a model to follow.”
He revealed that “soon” the flight between Venezuela and Iran will be reactivated -although he did not give a date for it- after 10 years of being suspended, as well as he also announced that he seeks to promote tourism with packages so that Iranians can travel to Venezuela and vice versa; that our nationals visit the Persian nation.
On the other hand, he stressed that “the coffee that Iran needs is produced in Venezuela.”
Similarly, he indicated that he is accompanied by several ministers such as Agriculture, Science, Tourism, Transportation, of the Presidency; the president of PDVSA and the vice president of Communication, Culture and Tourism, in order to build a “cooperation map” that will be signed on Saturday the 11th and thus establish a “strategy” for 20 years of joint development.
US sanctions relief
On the relief of some sanctions, which allow the oil companies ENI and Repsol to mobilize crude oil from Venezuela. As well as some respite from Chevron’s actions, Nicolás Maduro warned that it is important to see “how consistent” these measures are and stressed that the development of Venezuela only depends on Venezuelans.
He said that when the sanctions were imposed and the oil companies had to “leave”, he warned them that at some point they would return.
He commented that the fact that there have been rapprochement contacts with the United States is welcome, but asserted that the country does not depend on relations with Washington to continue advancing. He reiterated the benefits of our country in terms of energy, which allows the country to be open to investments.

For this reason, he commented that Venezuela has “a plan, a strategy” and an agenda to achieve the development it pursues and that includes the creation of a world with several poles of power and not just the one that the US and Europe manage.
He stressed that he has had to face “all the outburst of sanctions”, as well as the “blockade” and persecution, emphasizing that the information and mobilization of the people, seeking solutions to respond to the needs of Venezuelans, among other things, They have been key to overcoming the measures and thanks to the work it has been possible to begin to see a stage of improvement.
The example is Iran for Maduro
During the interview, President Nicolás Maduro praised Iran on several occasions. One of the things he asserted is that “the brotherhood has no distances,” this in reference to those who criticize relations between Tehran and Caracas because, in his opinion, “the revolutionaries” can transcend the obstacles that arise.
He stated that he admired what happened in Iran in 1979 with the “popular insurrection” that took place in the country to seek their identity and “recognize” themselves as equal countries.
He also thanked the Persians for their support when they sent several oil tankers with gasoline and fuel during the pandemic, emphasizing the actions taken to circumvent the sanctions and confiscation of merchandise.
He believes that Iran and Venezuela are “turning on the lights” in a different way of seeing the world, one that according to his criteria is “without hegemony.”
He recounted how the Persian nation has been taking spaces in the desert to turn it into places of work and progress, praising that with 70% of the territory covered by sand, they are capable of producing 100% of their food. Therefore, he stressed that the example of that country and its way of organizing should be followed.
He opened the doors to Iranian investment and said that the first products that arrived have been “successful”, like those of the first supermarkets that are already on Venezuelan soil -referring to the Megasis-.
