As I have been saying in recent days, when he and Carolina Viggiano took office, the party governed 12 entities: Sonora, Sinaloa, Coahuila, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala, State of Mexico, Colima, Oaxaca, Guerrero. and Campeche; after Sunday’s election, only three will govern. And in two there is an election next year.
By itself, the PRI went from governing 44.3 million Mexicans to just 20.1 million Mexicans in two states: Coahuila and the State of Mexico. Because Durango, the only state that has won since his arrival, won it in alliance with the PAN.
Furthermore, although he insists on showing it off as a great recovery, the party’s presence in the Chamber of Deputies remains historically low. To put it in perspective, in 2015 they had 205 deputies, today, despite the “great political operation of Alito” only 70.
What he did achieve is to secure deputies for him and his friends, who today earn in the CEN and in the Chamber of Deputies. It is certainly a great strategy, for him!
defeat is personal
And it is that for Alito, compadrazgo and cronyism are the daily bread. But it seems that he loves his friends little, because he has not helped them win.
Imagine, he imposed his nephew, Christian Castro Bello, as a candidate in his homeland, Campeche, and he lost victoriously. He came in third place, below MC. And for the elections this Sunday he repeated the formula. He badly imposed and without consulting the militancy his partner in the CEN, deputy and wife of Rubén Moreira, Carolina Viggiano. That’s how it went for her!
Committed to the Alliance?
Moreno has made everyone believe that he is the most committed to the “Va Por México” Alliance, but the reality is that he does not hesitate to negotiate and do everything possible to destroy it when it suits him.
In Quintana Roo he negotiated with his friend, Jorge Emilio González, El Niño Verde and broke the alliance to favor Morena and the hindrance par excellence, the green party. He fared so poorly that he is about to lose prerogatives in the state. And that because, being a national party, it cannot lose registration!
The same thing happened in Oaxaca. He and his friend Alejandro Murat threw away the alliance. And then he operated against the PRI to hand over the state to MORENA.
Of course, Murat dares to raise his hand for the 24th. With what a face, after Murat Junior pointed out that “if what the National Action Party has to offer is only hate and disqualifications, then I would tell you that this is a an enemy for Oaxaca and an enemy for Mexico, and it must be pointed out”.
Let him consider himself well served with what the 4T call gives him. Because after his obvious surrender, he will surely get a prize. Like the governor of Hidalgo, Omar Fayad.
They rightly say that the PRI is already a quarry for ambassadors and consuls of the so-called 4T.
