“It started to happen with the third wave and, now, in the fourth wave, even more so because the waves seem to be much shorter and that, despite there being a significant increase in cases, there is no correlation in terms of occupation of beds in intensive care, serious conditions or deaths,” he explained.
Additionally, the undersecretary explained that “coming out of a fourth wave does not mean that there cannot be a fifth or sixth later”; therefore, the main recommendation is to maintain self-care and get vaccinated.
