Paraguay today closed the Asian tour at the World Cup stadium in the city of Suwon against the South Korean team.
The national coach, Guillermo Barros Schelotto, renewed much of the team that lost 4-1 to Japan a week ago. This time he formed with Antony Silva; Iván Cazal, Gustavo Gómez (captain), Fabián Balbuena, Santiago Arzamendia; Andres Cubas and Richard Ortiz; Mathías Villasanti, Jesús Medina and Miguel Almirón; and Derlis Gonzalez.
For its part, the South Korean team, led by the Portuguese Paulo Bento, had from the start their captain and main reference, the talented attacker Son Heung-Min, a scorer for Tottenham Hotspur and the English Premier League.
And Paraguay distanced itself from that pale image suffered before the Japanese. It was something else. Aggressive starter, attentive, fast and settling in the host field without any fear, as we want to see.
Richard Ortíz transferred his experience and ordered his teammates, who were also backed by a shifty Mathías Villasanti. The presence of Jesús Medina gave another tone to the defense-attack transitions and the Gómez-Balbuena duo remained unshakeable in the background.
The red-and-white pressure did not take long to take effect and Miguel Almirón, attentive and inspired, was in charge of breaking the zero (22′). Total surprise in the South Korean bank.
This was the first white and red goal, the work of Miguel Almirón.

But, and there is always a but, Paraguay lowered the intensity in the following minutes and South Korea generated a couple of situations at the end of the first stage that could well have increased the score.
Albirroja had a hard time recovering the pressure and, consequently, rival football grew. However, Almirón took advantage of a counterattack that left the Korean bottom in a bad position to make it 0-2 with an impeccable definition (49’ST).
The second white and red goal was also the work of Miguel Almirón.

South Korea fully returned to the game with a great goal from their captain, Son, who took an accurate shot from a free kick (66′).
Barros Schelotto modified his starting eleven with the entry of Ángel Cardozo Lucena for Andrés Cubas. He also tried Gabriel Ávalos (Miguel Almirón) as a point guard and Oscar Romero (Derlis González) as creative.
Korea found the tie in an oversight near the final breath of Jung Woo Young’s hand.
Final, brawl between the protagonists and more than positive sensations for the Paraguayans. It played well and showed something different.
