The Minister of EducationLast Tuesday, Rosendo Serna appointed Hilmer Marchan Coz (55) as the new director of Teacher Evaluation, an office that is precisely in charge of supervising the evaluation procedures for promotion in the public teaching career in the sector.
But there is a detail that cannot go unnoticed. Before holding the high position in the Ministry of Education, Marchan was director of the UGEL of Huánuco since 2016.
And, precisely, the new director of Evaluation did not approve two years ago the Performance Evaluation that was carried out in 2020 to the directors of the UGELs at the national level.
This was alerted by the CAS Workers’ Union of the Ministry of Education.
“A disapproved director will direct teacher evaluation policy at the national level. What message do we give to the thousands of teachers who year after year strive to pass the evaluations? in their social networks.
Peru21 tried to communicate with Marchan, through the Minedu press office, but as of the closing of this report there was no response.
