This Saturday the 11th comes into force the ordinance 08-2021 of the Municipal Council that changes the avenue Nick and the street Benito Gonzalez in order to improve road traffic and reactivate trade in the area.
The authorities of the Transport Cabinet, the District Mayor’s Office, Public Works, the National Institute of Traffic and Land Transport (Intrant) and the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transport (Digesett) worked on the adequacy of the roads.
It is an old project that seeks to contribute to better mobility in the areabut also link the avenue Mella and the Model Market with the Colonial City and thus attract more tourists.
As part of the Ciudad Colonial Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, the nick avenue it can only be traveled in an East-West direction until Calle 16 de Agosto to connect with Bolívar and Benito González, which is currently in an East-West direction. It will work in reverse, from West to East.
The executive director of the Transport Cabinet, Hugo Beras, assured that the change will allow the commercial revival of the area and will improve its road circulation.
The announcement of the change made by the authorities has generated expectations both in users of both roads and residents in the demarcation.
