“Ktivo sacrificed himself for the freedom of all and now it is not possible to remain silent”

Ktivo Disidente

MIAMI, United States. – The activist Carlos Ernesto Díaz González, identified on social networks as Ktivo Disidente, was accused of the alleged crimes of disobedience and contempt.

According to his lawyer, he was “savagely” beaten on the face and body, after a provocation by the jailers themselves.

The information was offered to CubaNet Santa Clara activist Pedro López, who remains in contact with Díaz González’s wife.

“The lawyer found Ktivo extremely beaten, with his nose broken. He had a very large blow to the face, on the left cheekbone, ”López specified. “He was beaten by several guards for at least five minutes; they applied the method of torture known as ‘the wheelbarrow’”.

The activist also assured that the regime used the episode to accuse Ktivo Disidente of the alleged crime of attack. “This is a State Security maneuver to keep Ktivo behind bars because they know they have nothing against him,” he said.

“Ktivo sacrificed himself for the freedom of all and now it is not possible to remain silent. We have to raise our voice because he was the voice of us at the time”, concluded López.

On April 28, Ktivo Disidente protested loudly on San Rafael Boulevard, in Old Havana, against the immobility of the Cuban people and called for a fight against a dictatorship that has been in power for more than 60 years. “We don’t have to be forced communists or socialists,” he said.

“This has to stop, and we have to stop it. There is no civil society. There has to be no violence, there has to be no bloodshed, but they have to let us participate in the political life of the country”, the man shouted from the top of a wall at 8:47 in the morning.

“The one who is a communist should be, but the one who should not be respected. Until when the lack of respect. All Cubans have the right to participate in the political life of the country, whether or not they are communists. If you want Fidel to live, that’s your problem, I don’t want to be a communist,” he said before several people who came to film.

“The Cuban dictatorial regime has Ktivo Disidente disappeared. His crime of him? Demonstrate peacefully on San Rafael Boulevard this morning. He was demanding freedom for political prisoners, the right to participate in the politics of his country, and claiming his right to disagree with communism”, wrote on facebook the user Zaida Artiaga.
