Joaquín el Chapo Guzmán’s wife, Emma Coronel, was sentenced this Tuesday to three years in prison by a US court in Washington.

Coronel admitted that last June he collaborated with drug trafficking with El Chapo, pleading guilty to three crimes.

Emma Coronel Aispuro, 31, was found guilty of conspiring to traffic cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana.

In addition to the 36 months in jail, she was sentenced to four more years of supervised residence and to pay a fine of 300 dollars, instead of the 1.5 million dollars suggested by the Prosecutor’s Office.

The Prosecutor’s Office had also suggested to the judge that he be sentenced to four years in prison and five more years of probation.
