The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, who traveled to Los Angeles together with President Alberto Fernández to participate in the IX Summit of the Americas, had a meeting with his American pair Xavier Becerrain which they addressed “different joint work strategies in health matters between both countries,” reported the health portfolio.
During the work meeting held this Wednesday, the ministers analyzed the global response to the pandemic and shared the epidemiological situation and the progress of the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 in their respective countries, the Health statement said.

In this line, Becerra highlighted the “strong leadership and the commitment assumed by Argentina in the Global Health Security Agenda initiative (GHSA), which aims to build the capacity of countries to prevent or mitigate the impact of infectious disease outbreaks.”
The official and her American counterpart also agreed on the “relevance of working together with different actions related to policies of sexual and reproductive health in order to strengthen and improve access to these rights throughout the region”.
At this point, “the progress that Argentina has made in this matter and the important role it has played at the regional level” was highlighted.
The IX Summit of the Americas will take place until Friday, June 10, in the city of Los Angeles, California.
