In recent days, the Minister of Public Security (Minseg), Juan Manuel Pino, revealed that the cases of infants involved in armed robberies, drug sales and sexual crimes are worrying.
In the same sense, the former Minister of Security, Rodolfo Aguilera, declared that the cause of this problem is “the mismanagement of the Security Advisor, Severino Mejía, and the former Minister of Security, Rolando Mirones.”
He explained that when he was in charge of the Minseg, it was detected that the country registered 5,000 young people at high risk or in a situation of conflict with the law (gang members), and a method was used by which they intervened, trained and reinserted. occupationally.
He stressed that this government, at the beginning of its administration, made the decision to dismantle that work. “We were permanently rehabilitating and reinserting minors,” he said.
According to Aguilera, this administration does not have four tools to control crime: primary prevention, secondary prevention, tertiary prevention and repression or apply criminal law to offenders through police, prosecutors, judges and prisons. “This government abandoned the first three tools and is only applying the fourth and very badly because it does not have the resources,” she remarked.
The current Minister Pino specified that in the first four months of this year, 265 minors were related to acts of impact, 27 of them associated with homicide, 111 robberies and about 11 drug cases.
