Gandini defended the presentation by the Minister of the Interior, Luis Alberto Heber, before Parliament, which he described as “forceful, solid and explicit”.
“Then we are told that there is an attitude of dialogue. But dialogue requires a willingness to put opinions and receive them and to have an open mind in State policies, ”he said regarding the attitude of the Broad Front.
He added that the debate on public security was praised, it was the central issue of the referendum. “What a coincidence that there was no more talk of police abuse in this country! Now there is talk of murder.”
“This government changed the security plan. The police became the defender of public order and criminals are criminals. Now we have to let the authorities work,” Gandini asked.

The white legislator assured that during this government “there are fewer thefts, less robberies, less cattle rustling and violence, and this is objective.” He acknowledged that there have been more murders in the last month, but it cannot be judged for that, because it is “the product of organized crime linked to drug trafficking.”
“Yes, there are fewer homicides as a result of the robbery, because that was part of the efficient plan to combat this component of social violence,” he assured.
Gandini stated that attacking the heart of the cause of crime is fundamental, “that is why organized crime must be attacked and that is the plan. Crimes resulting from robbery must be distinguished from those that are the product of confrontation between gangs. The frontal fight is against the multinational drug trafficker, which comes from abroad”.
