Beneficiaries of the INAU will access work internships in the Presidency of the Republic

Authorities of the Presidency of the Republic and the Institute for Children and Adolescents (INAU) signed an agreement for the realization of up to 15 work internships for adolescents between 15 and 22 years of age, for one year. The initiative, which corresponds to the Youth Employment Law, provides for a remuneration of 4 benefit and contribution bases (BPC) for a work regime of 30 hours per week and 6 BPC for pregnant women or with children up to 4 years old.

The agreement was signed on the afternoon of this Wednesday 8, in the Executive Tower, with the presence of the Secretary of the Presidency, Álvaro Delgado; the president of the INAU, Pablo Abdala; and the general director of the Presidency of the Republic, Hebert Paguas.

“We have agreements of this type with many public institutions and private companies, but it is the first time that an agreement of this nature has been signed with the Presidency of the Republic, so it is historic,” said Abdala, in dialogue with the Presidential Communication.

In addition, he considered that this agreement represents a challenge with the adolescents linked to the institution, for which graduation strategies and processes that favor their progressive autonomy will be defined. For that, the tools associated with approaching the labor market are fundamental, she indicated.

Abdala explained that the agreement is also aimed at those young people who have reached the age of majority, with whom the institution works in the graduation process.

The agreement provides for a follow-up of the links and development of the activity of adolescents, with semi-annual evaluations. “The Presidency will also define what type of functions, in what areas or departments of the organization they will work,” he added.

The agreement is developed within the framework of the Youth Employment Law, which provides for a remuneration of 4 BPC for a work regime of 30 hours per week. In the case of pregnant women or with children up to 4 years old, it will be 6 BPC.

These types of agreements are part of the actions implemented by INAU to, in addition to promoting rights, shelter and protection, offer tools for work, Abdala said. Presidency
