The Santa Cruz Departmental Prosecutor’s Office issued a summons order for journalist Guíder Arancibia Guillén, to testify as a “defendant” for the alleged crime of criminal association. The case is related to the disclosure made by the professional about the seized vehicles that were used by shock groups to unlock lock points in Santa Cruz.
“The investigator assigned to the case, or any authority not impeded by law, is ordered to summon Mr. Gueider Arancibia Guillén (sic), so that, assisted by his defense attorney and carrying an identity document, he can present himself on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 ( today) at 3:30 pm, “says the Office of the Prosecutor.
The summons from the Public Ministry specifies that Arancibia must provide an informative statement “as a defendant” and in the “crime” section it specifies “criminal association.”

The journalist revealed the use of vehicles seized from drug trafficking by shock groups related to the Movement for Socialism (MAS) during the multisectoral strike in rejection of Law 1386.
“This is a disgrace and another attack on freedom of the press. The Prosecutor’s Office cites to testify (…) the journalist of El Deber, Guider Arancibia (they misspell his name) that he discovered the use of vehicles seized by shock groups in the unemployment, “the journalist Tuffi Aré posted on his Twitter account.
Likewise, Arancibia was also the one who uncovered the case “narcopolicías” in 2019, which involved two high authorities of the forces of order with drug trafficking.
