November has been a month of a lot of activity related to this island on social networks. There were frustrated expectations and news conveniently forgotten by some habitual “managers” of the Cuba issue, such as the sit-in of the Red Scarves and the impressive tribute of young people to Fidel or the traditional march of November 27, for which hundreds of thousands of students Havanans took to the streets.
As we promised in one of the hashtag that went viral among Cuban men and women, they did not spoil the party for us. In fact, no vandalism, no clutter; what has been reported in the second half of November are songs.
The troubadour Nelson Valdés and the group Arnaldo Rodríguez y Talismán were present in different Havana neighborhoods last week:
Old Havana danced with the Talisman. People demonstrated in the street with all the joy that they cannot forgive us, or take away from us:
From the University of Matanzas, the Buena Fe duo overshadowed any hateful attempt with music:
And Raúl Torres, the author of Snow lamp, Give it all back to me, Riding with Fidel, unblock me and Homeland or death for life, began a tour of prisons:
Here are just a few examples from the last week, but there was, as always, a lot of music, melodies like different flowers, harmonies of all colors. Cuba lives and is reborn, embraces and sings. That was November; Although the algorithms and their intricacies of manipulation try to prove otherwise, what Cuba reported the most this month … were songs.
