The Cuban Business Guide, which includes the new players in the island’s economywas presented this Tuesday as part of the activities that preceded the opening of the II Economic-Productive Conference in Havana.
How much this platform can contribute to the economic and social development of Cuba, to the productive chain, to the substitution of imports, to the promotion of exports and local development, representatives of the institutions that participated in its creation commented on a panel, according to with a report of the Cuban News Agency (ACN).
According to Ramón Labañino, vice president of the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC), the innovative digital tool includes the goods and services offered by 369,114 entities that participate in the cuban economyrefers the publication.
According to the media, it is “useful and reliable information” provided by the users themselves, ranging from state-owned companies, MSMEs, non-agricultural cooperatives to self-employed workers and local development projects, interested in promoting their activities. At the time the report was published, that digital space already had some 25,000 visits.
Labañino commented that the platform presented is the result of the alliance between ANEC, the private MSME Dofleini SRL and the Yellow Pages of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA)and that the various national agencies and institutions may be included in it, since it has “enormous potential and perspectives,” the text states.

in his presentation on-line from the theater of the Chamber of Commerce, Mildrey Granadino, first deputy head of the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP)highlighted how by facilitating access to information, this directory in turn enables productive chaining between the various forms of management.
The directive recalled that until last June 2 there were 3,657 new economic actors approved by the MEP, and given the “valuable utility” that the guide will have as a work tool in terms of promotion and operation, it urged companies, organizations and local governments to use it.
For his part, Oscar Luis Hung, president of the ANEC, pointed out that this platform is the contribution of its creators to the updating of the country’s Economic and Social Strategy, refers the ACN.
For their part, both Carlos Miguel Pérez, director of Dofleini SRL, and Grisel Reyes, deputy minister of Communications, underlined the benefits of the directory in being able to register all the goods and services available in the country, job offers, collaboration and investment and tenders.
In addition, they explained that for the sake of its sustainability and development, new added values are planned, as well as incorporating the profile by type of business, the QR mark for each of these, mobile applications, maps of economic actors, advertising and announcements, management of courses and events, electronic commerce and international suppliers of foreign trade, among others.
Add the information that in the panel developed from the presentation several proposals emerged, such as creating a version of the platform in English, in order to amplify its scope, and even more so when some foreign entrepreneurs and businessmen have also shown interest in approaching or registering with it, according to Ramón Labañino.
Since last year the Cuban authorities gave the green light to the new economic actors, there are already more than 3,600 MSMEs approved, the vast majority of them private, as well as more than 50 non-agricultural cooperatives, which, according to calculations by the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), should generate more than 60 thousand new jobs.
