The Ministry of Social Development (Mides) began to implement the new territorial model, based on greater presence and decentralization.
The strategy replaces the work of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and territorial assistance is offered directly by technicians hired by Mides after competitions. “This will allow us a greater presence, more decentralization and an increase in the number of hours per technician,” said Minister Martín Lema, in dialogue with the Presidential Communication.
He explained that in the previous model, the NGOs fulfilled 10 hours of weekly attention per team, and with the new strategy, each technician of the Mides teams will fulfill 30 weekly hours of work.
This increase in hours and presence will also allow care to be provided on weekends and expand coverage through mobile offices, he added.
Some 99 contracted technicians will work in the territory, through the deployment of mobile offices, and will receive the approach strategy from the team of each departmental management. “They are people who live daily with a number of queries that in many cases represent a very important sensitivity,” he concluded.
