The Public Ministry presented before the Second Collegiate Court of the National District several witnesses to establish the movements carried out on October 11 by the accused Argenis Contreras after the death of the lawyer and university professor Yuniol Ramirez.
Among the witnesses presented is the taxi driver Delbis Laureano, who allegedly offered a service to transport Argenis Contreras González and Víctor Elisander Ravelo Campos (El Herrero).
They also presented the testimony of Mr. Hilario Rafael Santo Polanco. Through his statements, they established that he is dedicated to towing services and that the accused Víctor Elisander Ravelo Campos (El Herrero) hired the services of a tow truck to take a vehicle to the parking lot of the Metropolitan Office of Bus Services (WHOA). The vehicle would have been evidence of the crime, says the Public Ministry.
Others who testified were Mr. Miguel Antonio Céspedes and Juan Díaz Agüero, who allegedly had contact with Argenis Contreras on the night of October 11 when that defendant was making moves to escape from the authorities after Yuniol’s murder.
Argenis Contreras is prosecuted for his involvement as the perpetrator of the murder of Yuniol Ramirez Ferreras, which occurred in October 2017, a criminal act linked to acts of corruption in the WHOA.
Manuel Rivas, former director of the OMSA, and Faustino Rosario Díaz, are accused of incurring corruption in the institution. Meanwhile, for the death of Yuniol Ramírez, in addition to Argenis Contreras, Mr. José Mercado (El Grande), Víctor Ravelo Campos (El Herrero), Jorge Abreu, Heidy Peña and Lilian Francisca Suárez are on trial.
