“For us it has been quite optimal that 44 bidding companies have sought to win this contest. On the other hand, at the moment, the technical team and the user area are already working on all these aspects and today we are going to launch the call again, hoping that not only the 44 companies will present themselves again, but also many more.”, he added.
At another point, the official stressed that the fall in the international price of urea It will allow the purchase of more than 73,000 tons, the amount initially scheduled.
Likewise, he explained that a margin of error of between two days has been established for the presentation of the new proformas, “We have established a margin of two days that can be earlier or later; It means that we are within the corresponding period. We will launch today, Monday, the call and the bidders will have between two to three days to present the required documents so that the committee can carry out the evaluation again and have one or more winners.”, he mentioned.
Conditions were not met
It should be noted that the Comptroller General’s Office indicated that the international call launched last May for the acquisition of 73,529 tons of fertilizers, for more than S/ 348 million, and declared void, did not include conditions that guarantee the adequate purchase and would generate the risk that The timely delivery of this input is not fulfilled for the start of the 2022-2023 agricultural campaign.
He indicated that Agro Rural could be warned that the requirement of the user area was made on May 31, the delivery of the product to the warehouse was going to take place on August 3, without considering other activities such as “bagging and labeling” that do not appear in the tentative schedule that is part of the explanatory statement of the Emergency Decree.
Therefore, the Comptroller maintained that the 73,529 tons of urea fertilizers would have been delivered to the port probably on September 4, 2022, being distributed to the peripheral warehouses of Agro Rural on September 14 and distributed to the field (beneficiaries) on September 21. same month.
