The Brazilian parataekwondo team won this Monday (6th) three medals at the Sofia Grand Prix (Bulgaria): a gold with Silvana Cardoso, a silver with Nathan Torquato and a bronze with Cristhiane Neves.
The highlight was the gold of the world champion and leader of the World ranking Silvana Cardoso in the category up to 57 kilos. The Paralympic champion in Tokyo Nathan Torquato took second place in the under-63 kg category. Cristhiane Neves secured a bronze in her category.
With these results, Brazil secured third place overall in the event. “This is the first edition of the Parataekwondo Grand Prix, and Brazil has already been in the top-3 with one gold, one silver and one bronze. In the latest editions of the strongest events in the world [Jogos Paralímpicos, Campeonato Mundial e Grand Prix] Brazil was in the top-3 in all of them. This shows the power that Brazil is in Parataekwondo”, declared the coordinator of Parataekwondo of the Brazilian Confederation of Taekwondo, Rodrigo Ferla.
