According to the bulletin on the supply of agricultural products and food security issued by the Agricultural Rural Planning Unit (UPRA), during the month of May the prices of food prices continued to rise, but to a lesser extent than in April. The biggest drops occurred in products such as potatoes and bananas.

In the case of potatoes, the price fell 40%, mainly for the varieties: unique, superior, supreme, pastusa brown, capira and black R-12; In parallel, the price of bananas fell by more than 10% in the varieties: Harton Ripe and Green, Dominican Harton Green and Ripe.
Regard to rice and dry beans, their prices increased during May. Premium rice, excellent rice, crystal soup rice and imported white rice showed price increases that fluctuated between 1.5% for premium rice and 4.9% for excellent rice.
Regarding the meat, they became more expensive in cuts such as the neck, the hip, the thin loin, the breast. For eggs, prices are going down. In the case of the AA red egg, whose price increased 4.5% in April, it fell 0.1% in May.
