When I opened my marketing agency in 2001, I had to assign the image to my business, so it was the designer Audry González to whom I explained that we integrate services for marketing departments and with that information he created my logo, which consists of 2 magnifying glasses that come together at a midpoint, which gives rise to the name: LBM Communications.
To this day I continue to join the dots: looking for services, talents or products that I enjoy melting to create projects, such as CIMA, International Marketing Congress, which after 5 years, I consider to be the most up-to-date network of contacts in the sector. of Venezuela, and which also continues to grow organically.
“Organic” as it is called in the online world and social networks because that is how the growth of a community is genuinely measured without investment in advertising. For example, in my case, CIMA has had very good colleagues and friends, who know that what I invent, I transform, I do it with my heart, and with the best intentions, always enjoying the journey.
This year I have 10 speakers, all marketing specialists, some Venezuelans and others foreigners, without a doubt all with different perspectives on how to do marketing; however, what we all have in common is the desire to give, to teach what we have learned and we also know the opportunity that participating in the congress means; it is a platform for doing business between brands, agencies and suppliers.
Networking is one of the key points for the growth and positioning of a professional or a brand. For me, the best ways to achieve this are taking continuing education classes in established academic spaces or actively participating in different groups in the sector that you like. Currently, I am part of VenAmCham (Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry), the Venezuelan Federation of Advertising Activities, the Association of Young Entrepreneurs and the Venezuelan-American Chamber of Commerce, and this year I will enroll in a couple more but with extension towards Latin America.
It may seem to you that all this is something that is read lightly and simply, but there are also risks and temptations on a daily basis, and as Valentina Quintero would say: a slip and “woof”.
The fact of making connections allows you to innovate or reinvent ourselves, that is, stand out from others. Giving all our effort so that our creativity plays a starring role is nothing more than taking the risk of putting on the table everything that comes to mind in order to create something new.
To end this article, I reiterate that on the way there will always be stones to trip over, fierce animals and difficult days, but we can always cope with that, and one way to do it is by turning the vicissitudes, to look for a goal that motivates you because the idea is to continue the adventure, at the end of our journey, we will get the best reward of all: having reached our own TOP.
