Alborta and Srur, new representatives of CAF-Development Bank of Latin America

Patricia Alborta, Christian Asinelli and Jorge Srur, authorities of the CAF-Development Bank of Latin America.

Patricia Alborta was appointed as CAF’s new representative in Argentina with the purpose of “strengthening relations through the formulation of work programs with the public and private sectors that promote sustainable development and regional integration”.

Of Bolivian nationality, Alborta has 16 years of experience at CAF, during which he held the positions of Country Economist for Bolivia, Chile and Paraguay; chief economist; and senior executive of Public Sector Businesses.

While, Argentine political scientist and academic Jorge Srur was appointed as the new regional manager for the southern zone of CAF-Development Bank of Latin Americawith the challenge of continuing its strategic lines in the countries of the southern cone and strengthening it as the green bank for regional integration and support for economic reactivation.

Srur will have the entrusted purpose of reinforcing the coordination of the institution’s actions in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

In addition to holding various positions in CAF and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in recent years, the executive in Argentina was Undersecretary for Coordination and Innovation of the Ministry of Justice; general manager of PAMI and twice legislator elected by the City of Buenos Aires

CAF’s mission is to promote sustainable development and regional integration by financing public and private sector projects, providing technical cooperation and other specialized services..

Established in 1970 and currently made up of 20 countries -18 from Latin America and the Caribbean, along with Spain and Portugal- and 13 private banks, it is one of the main sources of multilateral financing and an important generator of knowledge for the region.
