MAS: Venezuelans are more aware of collective problems than of political situations

The MAS representative insisted on the urgent need for a great national dialogue “to be able to sit down with all sectors of Venezuelan society and try to get the country on track, which is what the majority wants.”

The vice president of the political organization Movement Toward Socialism (MAS)María Verdeal, assured this Monday that Venezuelans pay more attention to the serious conflicts that the country suffers (public services and collective contracting), than to “political situations”.

The representative of the orange awning explained that the aspiration of the population follows a path very different from that of the national government, which has only dedicated itself to making fashionable the phrase that “Venezuela is improving.”

“It is difficult to say that this is happening or that the country is on the way to resolving the serious social and economic conflicts that we are going through with collapsed public services and people rummaging through garbage,” he said.

Verdeal He recalled that the serious social problems that the country is going through have led various sectors to take to the streets to protest for the salary claim.

“The struggle of sectors such as health, education, pensioners and retirees are the best example that in Venezuela we experience violations of collective agreements or misery wages that are not even enough to cover the basic basket,” he said.

On the other hand, the MAS representative insisted on the urgent need for a great national dialogue “to be able to sit down with all sectors of Venezuelan society and try to get the country on track, which is what the majority wants.”

“The country cannot wait for a change of government to be able to get out of the serious social and economic crisis that Venezuela is suffering,” he said.

Regarding the IX Summit of the Americas Summit, to be held from June 6 in the United States, María Verdeal confirmed that it is a mistake to exclude countries based on their type of government.

“The best scenario in which a group of countries fully develop democratic principles should precisely be where all the countries participate with the differences in government that exist and try not to isolate either the countries or the peoples,” he pointed out.
