The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) warned about the reduction in visibility due to fog and mist. Both fog and mist reduce horizontal visibility at the surface. Inumet recommends caution when driving.
The phenomenon began on Sunday night, as a result of “a very humid air mass in combination with soft and calm winds,” according to Inumet.
The institute estimated that the phenomenon will persist until Thursday 9, when a cold front will generate a change in the air mass, so humidity is expected to decrease.
Between the night of Sun-5 and the morning of Mon-6 (just like Mar-7) the reduction in visibility is expected due to #fogs #fogs; being more persistent in the center and east of #Uruguay
It should be noted that these phenomena are more frequent and persistent between June and August pic.twitter.com/OX1vHT4Bvc

It is expected that the reduction in visibility will affect the center and east of the country on a timely basis.
Inumet reminds that it is a common phenomenon between the months of April and September.
