The Congress of the republic informed that from this Monday it will be allowed that the press can access certain rooms of the Parliament, where the committee sessions are held, but that the entrance to the chamber and the conduct of interviews in the Hall of Lost Steps will continue to be restricted.
In a letter sent to the media, the national representation indicated that they still do not have the necessary permits to allow entry to all areas of Congress.
In the case of the interviews, the pronouncement indicates that these should not be done in the Hall of the Lost Steps but in the Héroes Defensores de la Democracia room.

Among the rooms that can already be accessed are Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre, Alberto Andrede Carmona and José Faustino Sánchez Carrión.
It should be noted that days ago permission was given for the press men to enter the Chronicler’s Room, because, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the press was not authorized to enter Congress.
The permanence of these restrictions on the press has been criticized by different journalistic associations, since it means putting obstacles to freedom of expression.
