1-1: Furch qualifies Atlas for the Apertura 'semis'

The Argentinian July furch scored this Saturday the goal with which the Atlas tied at home 1-1 at Monterrey and due to his better position in the table, he advanced to the semifinals of the Mexican Apertura tournament.

The Atlas, second in the standings, signed his pass to the semifinals in which he will face the Pumas UNAM for his better harvest of points than the Monterrey of coach Javier Aguirre, ninth.

The Rojinegros led by Argentine Diego Cocca had in the first half Luis Reyes, on the left wing, their best weapon to attack in the first minutes of the match against a Monterrey who suffered to attack.

Atlas’s push at the start of the game paid off when Erick Aguirre committed a penalty on Reyes, which Furch made 1-0 in the 18th minute.

After that, Atlas gave the ball to the Rayados and dedicated himself to defending himself, his strongest point in the regular phase. Monterrey did not take advantage of their dominance of possession until 40 ‘, with a header from Alfonso González that was saved by Colombian Camilo Vargas.

Monterrey tried to take center stage in the second half in search of a tie, with an Atlas who continued in his position of taking care of himself in the lower zone. The Rayados tied the game in the 73rd minute. Meza put a service into the area from the right that Arturo González, with his head, transformed into 1-1.
