SANTO DOMINGO.-The minister in charge of Strategic and Special Projects of the Presidency, Neney Cabrera, yesterday signed an agreement with the mayor of Higüey, Rafael Barón Duluc and the director of the Verón-Punta Cana Municipal District, Ramón Antonio Ramírez (Manolito), with whom they announce the definitive closure of the open-air landfill that operates in the Verón-Punta Cana tourist area.
The agreement was signed at the main headquarters of Propeep, in the capital, and was attended by the director of the Public-Private Trust for Comprehensive Solid Waste Management, Armando Paíno Henríquez Dájer, and the Secretary General of the Dominican Municipal League, Víctor de Aza.
