The Ombudsman’s Office through its 14 Regional Offices nationwide participated this Friday, June 3, in an inspection at Terpel fuel stations (150 in total) authorized to establish the price of 91 and 95 octane gasoline, as well as low-sulfur diesel at B/.3.95 per gallon, to carriers of the collective, selective, collegiate and Special Tourism Service (SET) sectors.
Human rights officers from the institution’s Regional Offices distributed nationwide went out to visit various Terpel stations to feel on the ground the development of the fuel subsidy or price stabilization.
During the tour it was found that the majority of the carriers showed confusion and certainty of receiving the benefit, so they asked the Traffic and Land Transportation Authority (ATTT) for a better explanation of the subsidy received.
The Ombudsman’s Office will maintain inspection and supervision at all gas stations to ensure that carriers receive the benefit and thus prevent an increase in the cost of the ticket.
