In Social Security records, 9,216 children and adults with cancer

Adjustments in 44% of the first circle of the President

The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) held the 90th weekly session with parents of children with cancer, in which it was reported that the registry of patients with a malignant tumor already has information on 9,216 people, of which 40 per one hundred are children, and 60 percent are adults.

Meanwhile, Enrique López, head of the Oncology Care Coordination, explained that with innovative medicines and the improvement of care provided to patients in emergency areas, among other actions, the survival of children has improved.

During the session held virtually, López added that blood donation campaigns are carried out, therapeutic adherence and follow-up at home are strengthened, with the support of parents.
