Santo Domingo.– The judge of the Seventh Investigating Court of the National District, Deiby Timoteo Peguero, confirmed the imprisonment of the main person implicated in the Pulpo case corruption file, Juan Alexis Medina Sánchez, brother of former president Danilo Medina, and two others.
The magistrate adopted his decision alleging that the budgets of the defendants Medina Sánchez, Wacal Vernavel Méndez and José Dolores Santana, which motivated the prison, have not changed.
The defendants carry out their coercion measure at the Najayo Correctional and Rehabilitation Center, San Cristóbal.

For the second time, Judge Timoteo Peguero replaced the deadlines for the Public Ministry to reproduce and notify an expert evidence to the lawyers of those involved in the Pulpo case.
The magistrate gave the Public Ministry 15 days to notify the hard drive removed from the electronic equipment seized from one of the companies involved.
After his notification, the magistrate grants five days to the defenses of the accused to defend themselves against that evidence. For this reason, the judge, for the fourth time, postponed the start of the preliminary hearing, which was set for June 27.
Likewise, the judge gives the opportunity for the defendant Paola Mercedes Molina Suazo, who did not attend court yesterday, to appear at the next hearing.
This is because the preliminary hearing was postponed for the aforementioned reasons. In relation to the accused Carlos Martín Montes de Oca, his process is suspended after the presentation of an opposition appeal against the decision that refuses to accept a medical certificate, indicating that he has health problems, but does not establish that he must rest.
