“Several of them had requested an interview with the President, who decided to receive them today on such a sensitive and particular day for the citizenry. We listen centrally to the particularities of each case, since not all situations are the same: there is a huge difference when a case has justice and others do not”Minister Gómez Alcorta explained in statements to the press after the meeting.

“In many of the cases there is still impunity, where the relatives themselves have to deal with the death of a daughter and then against the power and, in particular, the Judiciary,” the official said.

Gómez Alcorta explained that the President “understood that it was a way of making visible these facts that were still unpunished, to the respective provinces, so that in their areas of competence they would take the measures they had to take”.

In a message posted this morning on his Twitter account, the head of state recalled that “7 years ago women and LGBTI+ raised their voices to the cry of #NiUnaMenos” and that “from the Government, we listened to the demand of the streets and We translated it into public policies to accompany those who go through situations of gender violence on their way to a free life”.

Fernández accompanied his message with photos of the previous demonstrations of the collective “Not one less”.

With replicas throughout the country, the Ni Una Menos march in the city of Buenos Aires will take place this afternoon from Plaza de Mayo to Congressto which activities by feminist organizations will be added throughout the day, on the occasion of the seven-year anniversary of the first mobilization.

On Thursday, Gómez Alcorta met with journalists, on the day before the anniversary of the march to take stock of the National Action Plan against Gender-Based Violence 2020-2022, which closes the first stage at the beginning of next July, month in which the second edition will be presented.

The political responses to people in situations of violence are comprehensive, with state psychosocial and economic support, which is why the national program Acompañar, which grants a basic salary in extreme violent situations, represents 91% of the budget of the Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity, the official explained yesterday.
