The National Sports Secretariat and the Paraguayan Skating Confederation today presented the Artistic Skating World Cup Asunción 2022, a contest that will bring together more than 200 international skaters in our capital.
The presentation was led by the Minister of Sports, Diego Galeano, the President of the Paraguayan Skating Confederation, Lorena Veiluva; and the 1st Vice President of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, Julio Ferrari. The contest has the endorsement of World Skate, the matrix of skating worldwide.
The Minister of Sports, Diego Galeano, highlighted the extremely important skating event for figure skaters, “we will receive many athletes from different countries and where our athletes will participate in an event of this magnitude and hopefully it will be a successful high-level event and our athletes can represent the country in the best way”, highlighted the Minister.
The president of the Paraguayan Skating Confederation, Lorena Veiluva, thanked the National Sports Secretariat and the Paraguayan Olympic Committee for their support. Likewise, the sports leader highlighted the importance of this event at a continental level and of preparation for the Asunción 2022 Games.
“All the countries of the American continent will participate in this event, from the United States to Argentina, we will have approximately 350 participants between athletes and officials who will be in our country from June 13 to 19 and we feel prepared having the World Figure Skating World Cup as an experience. last year where we were the headquarters”, commented Veiluva.
The Artistic Skating World Cup Asunción 2022 will take place at the SND Arena, the largest closed multidisciplinary arena in the country, located in the Complex of the National Sports Secretariat. The event will also allow Paraguayan skaters to stay in competition in order to arrive in optimal conditions at the next Asunción 2022 South American Games.
