The President of the Republic, Mario Abdo Benítez, thanked the Colombian authorities for the arrest of the alleged perpetrators of the murder of Paraguayan prosecutor Marcelo Pecci in Cartagena.
More than three weeks after the crime of Marcelo Pecci in Colombia, the Police of that country managed to arrest five people, one Venezuelan and four Colombians, as materially responsible for the homicide.
Among those arrested appears a woman, who would have actively collaborated with a Colombian in following Pecci’s footsteps and even in notifying in which part of the beach he was, so that the assassins arrive exactly at the point to commit the act, according to a report published by RCN.
“We appreciate the commitment of the Colombian State agencies. The investigation into the tragic death of prosecutor Marcelo Pecci, in which police and prosecutors from both countries work cooperatively seeking justice, advances with the capture of the suspects in his death, ”Abdo Benítez wrote on his Twitter account.
The prosecutor of the unit against Organized Crime, Drug Trafficking, Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, Marcelo Pecci, was shot three times on Tuesday morning, May 10, when he was with his wife on a beach in Cartagena.
