This week, the WHO listed Omicron as a variant of concern.
Countries in Europe began to restrict flights from South Africa, a nation in which the first cases originated by Omicron were detected. Despite this, in Germany and Italy the first infections have already been confirmed.
In Mexico, meanwhile, this Sunday will mark a year with nine months since the first case of COVID-19 was detected in the national territory. This happened on February 28, 2020.
So far, Mexico has more than 3.8 million accumulated cases and 293,000 deaths.
