Christmas will cost Mexicans up to 90% more this 2021

A clear example is the purchase of an artificial Christmas tree, which had an increase of 200% compared to last year, another is the Christmas wreaths with a price increase of up to 140%.

The same products that were imported from Asia to Mexico offered by the same distributors, had an increase of 20% to 45% in toys, according to the Safe report.

In addition, it is expected that the budget of the families destined to celebrate this holiday date will decrease for the second consecutive year. In 2020 the budget decreased from 5,045 pesos to 4,500 pesos, a decrease of 10.8%.

Mexico’s economy affected by the pandemic

Due to the unemployment figures in the country, inflation, among other factors, the percentages of money allocated to the Christmas party will decrease.

Inegi revealed that there are 41.2 million people who do not have a formal, full-time job, or a stable salary.

This situation affects both the pockets of Mexican men and women that the money allocated to this family celebration will decrease.
