The União Brasil officially launched this Tuesday (31) the pre-candidacy of Luciano Bivar for the Presidency of the Republic. The event took place at the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center, in Brasília, and brought together politicians and party leaders, such as the former governor of Rio Grande do Norte and former senator, José Agripino, the Union leader in the Chamber of Deputies, Elmar Nascimento (BA), Senator Soraya Thronicke (MS) and the leader of União Brasil in the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (AP).
During the launch, after the composition of the table, there was a minute of silence in respect for the victims of the rains in Pernambuco.
The national president of União Brasil and the party’s pre-candidate for the presidency, Luciano Brasil, said it would be a huge shock for a party the size of União not to have a candidate for president. The party emerged from the merger between the DEM and the PSL. “Only in this way will we end the polarization that has taken hold in Brazil,” he said.
Bivar said that the main banner of his pre-campaign will be the institution of a single federal tax. “Our tax reform will replace 11 federal taxes in just one. The Single Tax comes to reduce the lion’s bite. It will be a single, smaller tax, and everyone will win”. The pre-candidate guarantees that, with this single tax, products and services will be cheaper.
Luciano Bivar holds a degree in law from the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences of Rio de Janeiro, with a postgraduate degree in financial education from Northwestern University (USA) and in comparative law from Unicap (Recife). He is a businessman and federal deputy for Pernambuco in his fourth term.
