In the early hours of this Monday, a group of unknown persons arrived in Quidico, on the coast of Tirúa, in Biobío, to burn a property belonging to an aunt of Fernando Fuentealba, president of the Association of Victims of Terrorism of the Macrozone South.
The property had been evicted after a complaint in court for illegal usurpation, so it was without inhabitants. As a result of the attack, it was completely destroyed, as was another neighboring house.
In a conversation with La Tercera, the tourist businessman lamented that “once again we must condemn the brutal attack on the town of Quidico, in which two houses belonging to an aunt, a relative of mine, were burned last night. She lost absolutely everything from one moment to another due to those groups that have spared no effort in continuing to terrorize the population of Quidico and in general the southern cone of the province of Arauco”.
Along the same lines, the leader indicated that the Government must strengthen the current State of Exception in the sector.
“It is demonstrated once again, not only with the death of Mr. Segundo Catril Neculqueo, but also with the continuous burning of houses, attacks that continue in our province. This adds up and continues and we hope that once and for all he makes the decision to establish a State of Exception as it corresponds and not limited as a simple makeup”, said Fuentealba.
For his part, the head of National Defense in the Biobío region, Rear Admiral Juan Pablo Zúñiga, maintained that “regarding the Quidico act last night, the burning of a property, unfortunately these are crimes that are being committed and that obviously, The Public Ministry takes control as a persecuting entity and the police to investigate the facts that have been denounced”.
It should be noted that in the Arauco and Biobío area, the Armed Forces maintain a mixed patrol with the police on the main routes and highways in the area, complementing it with air support.
