The loss of the leadership of Serie A1 (first division) of the Brazilian Women’s Football Championship, on Saturday (28), was only temporary. This Sunday (29), Palmeiras regained the top of the table by thrashing São José 5-0 at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo, for the tenth round of the competition.
Verdão was 25 points ahead, again one ahead of Corinthians, raising expectations for the classic between alvinegras and alviverdes, next Saturday (4), at 2 pm (Brasilia time), at Allianz. São José, in turn, continues with nine points, in 13th position, opening the relegation zone. Also next Saturday, at 3 pm, the Meninas da Águia welcome Flamengo at the Martins Pereira stadium, in São José dos Campos (SP).
Plestrinas went into the break with a three-goal lead. At nine minutes, midfielder Duda Santos released the bomb in the free kick and opened the scoring. In the 34th minute, the defender of São José got away from Chú’s cross on the left, Duda Santos took the leftover and rolled for fellow striker Carol Rodrigues to finish. Four minutes later, striker Bia Zaneratto, from a penalty, scored the third alviverde goal.
In the second stage, in the 14th minute, striker Byanca Brasil received a backheel from midfielder Andresinha and ended up leaving goalkeeper Zany. Finally, at 43, Bia Zaneratto advanced on the left and crossed low for midfielder Patrícia Sochor to complete in the area, isolating Palmeiras as the best attack of the Brazilian (25 goals) and closing the score.
In another match this Sunday, Cruzeiro and Cresspom drew goalless at Sesc Alterosas, in Belo Horizonte. The Minas Gerais team played with one player less since the 30th minute of the initial stage after sending off goalkeeper Taty Amaro. Equality kept the teams at the bottom of the table. Cabulosas are in 12th place, one ahead of the relegation zone, with ten points. Tigresas do Cerrado remain in 14th position, in Z4, with six points.
The two teams will play again next Sunday (5), at 15:00. Cruzeiro visits Real Brasília at Defelê, in the federal capital, while Cresspom welcomes São Paulo at Abadião, in Ceilândia, in the Federal District.
