In Potosí, an eight-month-old baby who was infected with the coronavirus by contact with her mother lost her life.

The death of the infant was confirmed by the head of Epidemiology of the Departmental Health Service (Headquarters) of Potosí, Huáscar Alarcón, who reported that he lost his life on November 16.

“She was transferred to the Seville Covid Center and on the way the girl died, they could not revive her (…). She died on 15 or 16 (November) approximately at night and they have brought her deceased, on the way this minor has died ”, said the official.

The mother of the baby tested positive for the coronavirus and infected the little girl, who first presented with diarrhea and became critical due to a respiratory condition.

Alarcón explained that the mother refused to be admitted. The baby’s family is from the Irupampa community, where vaccination was refused on the orders of her authorities, according to urgent.bo.

“The mother has four other children and lives with her husband, so we moved a medical brigade to her home, however, there was even an attempt to attack the health personnel by the father,” said Alarcón.
