The head of the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat), Luis Vera Castillo, met this Friday, November 26 with the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, in the Government Palace.
According to the Transparency visit log, Luis Vera arrived at Pedro Castillo’s office at 11:40 a.m. and remained there until 12:13 p.m.
Who was also present at this meeting was the Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Francke, who after giving interviews to various media this morning, arrived on foot at the Government Palace half an hour before the head of Sunat.
It should be noted that among the people who have come to the House of Pizarro this Friday is the former secretary general of the Presidential Office, Bruno Pacheco, who is being preliminarily investigated by the Public Ministry for allegedly having exerted pressure on the head of the Sunat so that favors certain legal and natural persons.
As part of these investigations, a diligence was carried out on November 19 last, in which the prosecution found some US $ 20 thousand that Pacheco Castillo had stored in a dressing room located in the bathroom of his office.
This Thursday, Sunat also reported that the recovery of the debt stock exceeded 6.5 billion soles so far this year, setting a new record figure that exceeds the annual amounts reached so far. This, after last Friday 685 million soles were collected, within the framework of a coercive collection process, from a company in the mining sector.
