In this ceremony, 524 revolvers, 245 pistols, 56 shotguns, 16 pellet guns, 46 rifles, 133 rifles, three submachine guns and five nipples were destroyed.

In the twenty-second weapons destruction ceremony, held this Friday, May 27, the Ministry of Public Security (Minseg) destroyed 1,028 firearms, ammunition and suppliers, seized in different operational actions of the Public Force.


According to Security Minister Juan Manuel Pino, in this ceremony 524 revolvers, 245 pistols, 56 shotguns, 16 pellet guns, 46 rifles, 133 rifles, three submachine guns and five nipples were destroyed.


Pino stressed that in this new ceremony, held at the headquarters of the National Police, weapons that were in the hands of criminal groups are taken out of circulation forever, and that now they will no longer harm society.

Minister Pino commended the work of the units of the security forces, who maintain the high commitment to seize as many illegal weapons as possible, in order to protect the life and property of citizens.


From July 1, 2019 to date, the government of President Cortizo Cohen has destroyed a total of 21,359 firearms.
