“It is a highly sensitive issue,” Argimón said at a press conference. So public opinion must be properly informed, he added.
The vice president was asked about the repercussions that this fact could have, to which she replied that she hopes it will not have an impact on the reports of sexual crimes. Nevertheless, “We all know what it means for a victim to take the step of (making) a complaint,” he warned.
The prosecutor maintained that there is persecution against him, questions from journalists and pressure from feminist groups. In this regard, the vice president clarified that those who carry out public activities must be prepared “to receive opinions from the most diverse.”
“Judges, prosecutors and political actors know that the opinions of groups or citizens are an element to consider, but they do not mean pressure,” said Argimón.
