Athletico-PR literally did their homework this Thursday (26) and secured themselves in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. Playing at Arena da Baixada, in Curitiba, Hurricane thrashed Caracas (Venezuela) 5-1.

With this triumph, the team led by coach Luiz Felipe Scolari closed the first phase of the competition in second place in Group B with ten points, the same score as leader Libertad (Paraguay), who beat The Strongest (Bolivia) 4-1 on Thursday. .
Playing at home, the Brazilian team opened the scoring in the 18th minute, when forward Pablo got rid of an opponent with a dribble and hit low. Three minutes later, the Hurricane expanded with a new goal from shirt five.
Just before the break, Felipão’s team reached the third with midfielder Christian, who finished after a low cross by Abner.
In the 12 minutes of the final stage, Caracas still tried to start a reaction with a goal from Rivero, but Athletico-PR confirmed their triumph thanks to goals from Christian, at 25, and Pedro Rocha, at 29.
